PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Speciality

What is it?

DPVs offer a thrilling way to see a lot of underwater territory in a brief amount of time. They scoot you through the water without kicking. Whether making a shore dive or diving from a boat, a DPV is a great way to see more and have a blast doing it. So if you want to feel like James Bond and have a bit of fun sign up for this speciality.

Who can take part?

Anyone who is qualified as a PADI Open Water Diver or has an equivalent qualification from another training organisation. Minimum age 12.

What does the course involve?

During the course you will learn about:

  • Diver propulsion vehicle dive planning organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards
  • How to get around on a DPV
  • Equipment considerations
  • Diver etiquette and how to avoid harming fragile aquatic life

You will read the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle Manual and complete the knowledge review. You will then complete two open water training dives using a DPV.
