PADI Master Scuba Diver

What is it?

With the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating, you have reached the highest non professional level in the PADI System of diver education. It means that you have acquired significant training and experience in a variety of dive environments.


Who can take part?

Anyone who is a qualified diver should think about working towards the Master Scuba Diver qualification.


What does the course involve?

You become a Master Scuba Diver by gaining a series of PADI qualifications and diving experience. To gain the Master Scuba Diver Rating you must have the following:

  • PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation)
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation)
  • PADI Rescue Diver or Junior Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organisation)
  • Minimum of five PADI Specialty Diver courses
  • Minimum of 50 logged dives

How long will it take?

The rescue diver knowledge development and confined water training are run over five weeks on a Thursday evening in Harrogate or a Friday evening in YorkYou can work towards this rating over a period of time by completing the individual courses required and gaining the necessary dive experience. How do I book a course?

We have the individual courses required for this rating running regularly throughout the year. See the course calendar for our next course dates. To book your place on your next course all we need is a £75 deposit with the balance due at the start of the course. You will also need to get the course materials prior to commencing the course.

You can either call in the shop to pay your deposit and collect the course materials, download the course booking form and send it to us with your payment or simply ring us quoting your credit card number and we can post out the course materials to you (postage charged at cost).

Course Prices

See the individual course information for details of the cost of each course. If you book all the courses that you will need to complete to gain the Master Scuba Diver Rating together as a package we will give a 10% reduction on the price of each course.

In order to gain the Master Scuba Diver rating there is an application fee of approximately £25 paid direct to PADI.
