PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

ADVANCE YOUR DIVE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Exploration, Excitement, Experiences - They’re what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course. The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water.
The course is structured to give you the flexibility to tailor the course to your particular areas of interest as you choose to complete the dives that interest you. As an Advanced Open Water Diver you will be qualified to dive to 30 metres (21 metres for Junior Advanced Open Water Divers).

Who can take part?

To enrol on the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course you must have the PADI Open Water Diver qualification or equivalent qualification from another organisation. Divers between the ages of 12 and 14 will receive the Junior Advanced Open Water Diver qualification. 

You will also be required to complete a Medical Statement – Please ensure you are fit to dive by checking this form. If you answer "yes" to any of the questions, you'll need to take the form to your GP to get signed off as fit for diving before you can hit the water. Download the Dive Medical Form Here

What does the course involve?

  • Knowledge Development, to understand what each adventure dive entails

  • 5 Open Water Dives, Navigation and deep are compulsory, you can then chose 3 further dives

  • If you select the drysuit dive, a drysuit orientation will be conducted in the pool prior to open water training at no extra cost.

How long will it take?

The dives are normally conducted over two Saturdays. Options for completing the course dive by dive are also available. If completing a drysuit adventure dive you will also complete a pool training session. There will be some home study.

When you have completed your PADI Advanced Open Water course you may want to expand your knowledge towards the safety of yourself and your fellow divers, why not take the next step and sign up for the PADI Rescue Diver course, this course is ideal for those who have completed their PADI Advanced Open Water course and are looking to broaden their knowledge and experience. We also have a range of specialties from Underwater Navigation, Wreck and Deep to learning about life below the sea.

*The course fees include provision of any equipment required, all tuition fees and certification fees to PADI. Entry fees and transport to dive sites are not included.
